Strawberry Cream Cheese Fried Sandwiches

Ingredients:
For the Filling:
1 cup cream cheese (such as Philadelphia), at room temperature
2 tbsp powdered sugar
1/2 cup strawberry jam or fresh strawberry pieces
1 tsp vanilla extract
For the Sandwiches:
8 slices of toast bread (preferably white or brioche)
Oil for frying
1/2 cup powdered sugar or a mix of sugar and cinnamon for coating
For Coating:
1 egg, beaten with 1 tbsp milk
Instructions:
Prepare the Filling:
In a bowl, mix the cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
Gently fold in the strawberry jam or fresh strawberry pieces.
Assemble the Sandwiches:
Lay out a slice of toast bread and spread a tablespoon of the filling in the center.
Cover with another slice of bread.
Press the edges gently to seal, using a fork to ensure they are well closed.
Coating:
Dip each sandwich into the egg mixture, making sure it is fully coated.
Frying:
Heat oil in a deep pan over medium heat.
Fry the sandwiches for 1-2 minutes per side until golden brown and crispy.
Place them on a paper towel to absorb excess oil.
Serving:
Dust the sandwiches with powdered sugar or a cinnamon-sugar mix.
Serve warm with extra strawberry sauce or vanilla ice cream.
